Miracle on 23rd Street 2019

Following a more than 50 year tradition, Melwood is kicking off the holiday season with their annual Miracle on 23rd Street event. Melwood is a local agency offering employment services to veterans and people with differing abilities. Geva and Jane are happy to be sponsoring the event to support their ongoing endeavors.

The event includes lighting the community Christmas Tree, face painting, hot cocoa, and fun activities from local sponsors.  Enjoy the arrival of Santa, escorted by the local Arlington Fire and Police departments. This is followed by visits and pictures with the children. More than 400 people attended the event last year, so don’t forget to get tickets! And don’t worry, there will be some indoor activities to get away from the chilly weather.

They will also be collecting food to donate to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).  Bring non-perishable items like peanut butter, tuna, non-expired canned or boxed food to donate to those in need.  Or consider making a monetary donation through their website https://afac.org/donatepage/!

Melwood supports children, youth and adults of differing abilities to work and play where and how they choose.
