The Garden Club of Chain Bridge Forest
Did you know that Chain Bridge Forest has a Garden Club? We come together every month to share our love of gardening and to get to know our fellow Chain Bridge Forest and surrounding neighbors. Whether you're an experienced gardener, just starting out, or are interested in meeting and socializing with others, the Garden Club of Chain Bridge Forest is a great place to learn and connect. We invite lecturers to present on different aspects of gardening each month while also enjoying the company of our neighbors.
The mission of the Garden Club of Chain Bridge Forest is to foster the beautification of Chain Bridge Forest and stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening. Our monthly meetings are filled with presentations from local area experts on a variety of gardening topics, such as weed control, composting, deer-resistant plantings, and native plantings. The topics are always educational and you do not have to be a gardener to attend!
We meet in member homes monthly from September through May and have both day and evening meetings to accommodate everyone’s schedule. Our annual plant sale held in April/May is a big fundraiser for the club, with the funds being used to purchase and install annual plants at the entrance of the neighborhood. In addition, we host two social gatherings a year - a holiday potluck in December and an end of year celebration in May. We are committed to making Chain Bridge Forest a more beautiful, inviting and welcoming neighborhood.
As a community-led organization, we are dedicated to gardening and friendship in the Arlington and McLean areas. Our members come from all walks of life and include current and former residents of Chain Bridge Forest, as well as those from the surrounding neighborhoods. The Garden Club of Chain Bridge Forest was formed to bring together those individuals interested in learning about all things related to the garden and other outdoor spaces.
Upcoming Events
Our next meeting is quickly approaching, and we are excited to welcome the master gardener from Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens as our guest speaker. If you live in the Arlington or McLean area and are interested in learning more about gardening, this meeting is for you! Join us April 12th, 2023 for an informative afternoon about all things gardening. Time and location details are still being worked out, so be sure to reach out for updates. We look forward to seeing you there!
